As an international student at TAFE Queensland you have a wide range of accommodation options close to the campuses, including:

Homestay; This is a popular type of accommodation. You will live with an Australian family and get to know the real Australian life style. They will provide a furnished room and up to three meals a day.

Rental accommodation; Your own room or apartment at the location of your preference. Price will vary depending on the type, standard and location of the property.

Shared accommodation with other students; Renting a house or apartment together with other students is also a popular option. It reduces your living expenses and fosters a supportive environment. The price for accommodation varies on the type, standard and location.

Most of the students rent an apartment through Varsity Apartments or Uni Central.

Campus TAFE Queensland

TAFE Queensland has six locations:

Mooloolaba Campus

Just a few minutes from the beautiful Mooloolaba beach, relaxed surfside cafes, vibrant nightlife and shopping areas you will find the state-of-the-art Mooloolaba campus. At the Mooloolaba campus you can choose to study from a huge range of international programs that can lead to exciting careers, including; digital media, arts and design, fashion design, gaming, 3D animation, information technology, health, fitness and community services, early childhood education and care, nursing, hospitality management, cookery, travel and tourism, events management, and hairdressing, Facilities include a training restaurant, bistro and bar, a training hairdressing salon and gymnasium for valuable on-the-job training and which are open to students and public.

Bundaberg campus

The Bundaberg campus is centrally located in Walker Street. This campus provides international courses like; automotive, mechanical technology, engineering, trades, English language, health, fitness and community services, and nursing. The campus has a training restaurant and beauty salons which are open to the public and students, so don’t forget to support your Australian fellow students by going there!

Gympie campus

The Gympie campus is located near a local high school and the Gympie Learning Hub of the University of the Sunshine Coast (link). The campus delivers a variety of international courses including; English language, health, fitness and community services and nursing. This campus also has a training restaurant and salon which are open to the public and students.

Nambour Campus

Nambour is a historic rural town situated at the foot of the Blackall Range. Formerly this was the centre of a thriving sugar cane industry. The Nambour campus is physically the largest campus of TAFE Queensland. It offers many exciting international courses including; general education, conservation and land management, digital media, arts and design, graphic design, and interior and building design.

Fraser Coast campus

The Fraser Coast campus at Hervey Bay delivers international courses like; English language, health, fitness and community services and sports development. Support your fellow students by having breakfast, lunch or dinner in the training restaurant or get a haircut at the hair and beauty centre. Both are open to students and the public.

Maroochydore Campus

The Maroochydore campus is a modern facility housed in one building not far from the beach and Sunshine Coast's largest shopping centre, Sunshine Plaza, in the busy hub of Maroochydore. You will enjoy the huge selection of cafes, food courts and take-away shops that are located just a few steps away from the campus. TAFE Queensland - Maroochydore is the international business focused campus and offers courses in accounting, business administration and management studies.

In addition to a wide selection of study programs and courses you can also take part in a vibrant student life at TAFE Queensland. The university offers career events and business expos across the region and an unhurried, unique and vibrant community. 

TAFE Queensland campuses offer modern facilities, which are easily accessible and designed to meet your needs, like:

  • Restaurants; There are five fully operational training restaurants at the Bundaberg, Gympie, Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Mooloolaba campuses. Restaurants are open to the public at select times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and bookings are essential.
  • Gym; There are two fully-equipped gyms with qualified staff at the at Hervey Bay and Mooloolaba campuses.
  • Hairdressing and beauty salons; There are fully operational training hairdressing and beauty salons at the Bundaberg, Gympie, Hervey Bay and Mooloolaba campuses. The salons have public appointments available throughout the year and bookings are essential.
  • Libraries, resource centres and facilities for hire; Further on you will find libraries, resource centres and a number of rooms and facilities available to hire at each of the locations to meet your requirements.
